+ natalya shoaf

i am a freelance movement analyst— as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher of my passion for movement, i focus on the embodiment of ideas as a way to tap into individuals interpretation of their lived experience through their innate movement.

i’ve acquired immense knowledge from participation in Alonzo King LINES BFA program at Dominican University of California.

throughout various summers i have attended Addo Platform, Sidra Bell’s module, Springboard Danse Montreal, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance , and Bolshio Ballet.

i’ve been graced with the opportunity to performed works created by dazaun.dance, maurya kerr, gregory dawson, david harvey, katie scherman, bobbi jene smith, alex ketley, peter chu, ohad naharin, and many more.

+ ‘first study’ — a solo in collaboration with samantha weeks— has had the opportunity to have a life past initial creation in 2018 in festivals such as LEVysalon (sf) and CHOPSHOP: Bodies of Work (washington) in 2019.

+ my first attempt developing work for film was for CON BRIO’s latest music video, ‘Body Language.’ with such an intriguing introduction with creating dance for film i am encouraged to entertain this new way of creation, maybe one day making choreo for missy elliot or kendrick lamar (big fan !!!)
